What Moves the Final Price
Equipment and efficiency
Higher-efficiency equipment, with higher SEER2, AFUE and HSPF2 ratings or variable-speed and two-stage operation, costs more upfront and less to run month to month.
System size
Equipment is sized to your home: its square footage, insulation, windows and layout. A larger home needs a larger system, and a larger system costs more.
Ductwork condition
Ducts that need sealing, repairs or modifications add to the project. We look at your ductwork during the assessment and include any work it needs in your quote.
Electrical work
Some installations need a dedicated circuit, a new disconnect or a panel upgrade, depending on the equipment.
Permits and inspections
Most installations need a permit and an inspection from your city. We handle the permit paperwork, and permit costs vary by jurisdiction.
The repair itself
A capacitor, contactor or igniter is a smaller job than a blower motor, control board or compressor. We diagnose your system first and quote the repair before we begin.
