Tell Us About Your Mini-Split Problem
Describe which head isn't working, what it's doing (not cooling, not heating, weak airflow, making noise), and how long the problem has been happening. The more detail you share, the better we prepare our diagnostic approach. We'll follow up to discuss findings and next steps.
Mini-Split Faults, Pinpointed
Ductless mini-split systems deliver comfort to individual rooms or zones without central ductwork, but when one or more indoor heads stops working, the whole benefit disappears. BreezeTech specializes in Daikin and Bosch mini-split repair and services all major ductless brands.
Whether your system isn't cooling, heating, cycling properly, or making unusual noises, we diagnose the issue—refrigerant leak, compressor failure, electrical control problem, or head malfunction—and explain the repair path before work begins.

WHY CHOOSE US
Your Papillion Ductless Heating & Cooling Contractor
Mini-Split Specialization
Ductless systems differ fundamentally from central AC and furnaces. Diagnosis requires understanding refrigerant line routing, zone-specific controls, inverter compressor operation, and how individual head failures differ from outdoor unit problems. Our technicians know these systems inside out.
Daikin and Bosch Certified Service
We install and maintain Daikin and Bosch mini-splits as our primary brands and specialize in their specific control platforms, refrigerant circuits, and performance tuning. That focus means faster diagnosis and repair precision.
Backed by 15 Years of Experience
Ductless systems have unique failure patterns—refrigerant leaks at connection points, defective inverter boards, head valve malfunctions, outdoor fan motor wear—and we've encountered and resolved them repeatedly. Experience means confident diagnostics and repairs that address root causes.
Husband-and-Wife Operated
Micah and Kayla Perkins run BreezeTech on the principle that every homeowner gets honest diagnostics and fair pricing. If a repair makes sense, we execute it. If replacement would serve you better long-term, we'll tell you that too.
RGF REME Certified Technician
Ductless systems deliver air quality in targeted zones, and our advanced certification in air purification means we can advise on both repair and IAQ optimization within your mini-split coverage.
All Makes and Models
While we specialize in Daikin and Bosch, we repair all major makes and models of ductless systems equally well. Your brand doesn't determine our diagnostic skill or repair quality.
KNOW THE SIGNS
Common Mini-Split Repair Warning Signs
One Head Isn't Working, Others Are Fine
A single indoor head that stops cooling or heating while other heads function normally points to a zone-specific control failure, a valve problem in that line set, or a malfunction in the head's heat exchanger. The outdoor unit and refrigerant compressor are likely fine—it's the zone. We test electrical continuity to the head, check for refrigerant flow via line temperature, and verify the internal valve operation.
Weak Airflow from One or More Heads
Indoor head filters clogged with dust reduce airflow dramatically and stress the system's ability to deliver comfort to that zone. Refrigerant starvation caused by a line restriction also cuts airflow. A failed blower motor in the head produces no air at all. We clean or replace filters, check for ice buildup on coils indicating low refrigerant, and test the blower motor's voltage and response.
Noises from Heads or Outdoor Unit
Hissing often indicates a refrigerant leak—possibly at a connection point between the indoor head and the refrigerant lines. Grinding or squealing from the outdoor unit signals compressor wear or bearing failure. Rattling may be loose bolts or a fan blade hitting its housing. These are warnings—promptly diagnosing the source prevents a small problem from becoming a system failure.
System Runs but Room Temperature Won't Change
The head may run continuously without actually conditioning the space, suggesting low refrigerant, a stuck expansion valve, a failed compressor, or dirt on the indoor or outdoor coil blocking heat transfer. We measure refrigerant pressure, check coil cleanliness, and test compressor current draw to find the blockage.
Outdoor Unit Not Running
If indoor heads show no airflow and the outdoor unit fan isn't spinning, a power failure, a tripped breaker, a capacitor failure, or a control board malfunction may be preventing startup. A low refrigerant safety lockout also stops outdoor unit operation—the system protects itself by shutting down. We verify power to the unit, test the capacitor, and check refrigerant pressure.
Water Dripping or Pooling Inside
Indoor heads condense moisture from humid air during cooling. A clogged drain line, a frozen coil (indicating low refrigerant or excessive cooling), or a cracked condensate pan allows water to escape instead of flowing safely to a drain. Water damage inside your home demands immediate attention. We clear drain lines, restore refrigerant charge if needed, and repair or replace the pan.
OUR REPAIR PROCESS
How We Diagnose and Fix Your Mini-Split System
We test every head and the outdoor unit. For each head, we check electrical power, thermostat signal, airflow, and refrigerant line temperature. We measure outdoor unit pressures, voltage, and compressor operation. This zone-by-zone mapping reveals whether the failure is localized to one head, affecting all heads, or centered in the outdoor unit.
- Test power and control signals to each indoor head
- Measure refrigerant line temperature at each head's connection
- Check compressor pressures (high and low side)
- Inspect outdoor and indoor coils for dirt, ice, or damage
- Test electrical continuity through thermostats and zone controllers
Once we know which zone or component isn't working, we narrow the diagnosis. If one head fails while others work, we focus on that head's refrigerant valve, heat exchanger, and control board. If all heads fail, we examine the outdoor compressor and main refrigerant circuit. If some heads are weak while others are strong, we check refrigerant distribution balance.
- Verify refrigerant pressure balance across multiple heads
- Test solenoid valve operation on zone-control manifolds
- Check heat exchanger coil condition (freeze-up vs. normal)
- Measure electrical continuity in control circuits
- Inspect refrigerant lines for leaks, kinks, or ice blockage
We show you what we found and what it means. You'll understand whether it's a straightforward fix (a clogged filter, a drain line blockage, a valve replacement) or a larger issue (a compressor failure, a coil replacement, a control board swap). We explain the repair cost and whether the investment makes sense for your system's age and overall condition.
- Show you the problem in person when possible
- Discuss repair cost and expected outcome
- Explain whether repair or replacement makes financial sense
- Walk through warranty coverage on replacement parts
- Answer all questions before we proceed
We use manufacturer-approved replacement parts and follow EPA and electrical code protocols. For refrigerant work, we recover and recycle old refrigerant properly. For electrical repairs, we test safety interlocks and verify proper operation in both heating and cooling modes.
- Replace or repair the identified component
- Recharge refrigerant to exact manufacturer specification
- Test all electrical connections and zone controls
- Verify operation in both heating and cooling modes
- Inspect for new leaks or anomalies
Before we leave, we run the repaired system through a complete cycle. Each head must deliver proper airflow and temperature. Room temperature must match thermostat settings. Noise levels must return to normal. You'll understand how to recognize early warning signs and when your next seasonal maintenance should occur.
- Run all heads through heating and cooling cycles
- Verify each zone reaches set temperature
- Check for unusual noises or vibration
- Confirm proper condensate drainage
- Provide service documentation and maintenance tips
COMMON MINI-SPLIT REPAIRS
Scenarios We Diagnose and Fix Regularly
Refrigerant Leak at Zone Valve Manifold
Ductless systems use manifold blocks with individual solenoid valves to direct refrigerant flow to specific heads. Leaks at connection points depressurize the system and reduce cooling or heating capacity in one or more zones. We locate and seal the leak, test the manifold's solenoid valves, and recharge to spec.
Book a refrigerant leak diagnosticFailed Indoor Head Control Board
Each head contains a small circuit board that receives signals from the thermostat and controls the blower and solenoid valve. A failed board leaves that head unresponsive—the display may go dark, buttons may not work, or the head may run continuously without responding to temperature adjustments. Board replacement restores zone control.
Schedule a head control diagnosticClogged Indoor Head Filter or Coil
Ductless heads have small filters and heat exchangers that clog faster than central systems because air is concentrated in one small zone. A dirty filter chokes airflow; a frosted coil (from low refrigerant or poor airflow) blocks heat transfer. We clean or replace filters and thaw coils, then investigate the root cause.
Request a head cleaning and inspectionOutdoor Compressor Failure
The outdoor unit's compressor is the heart of the ductless system. Compressor wear, electrical failure, or low-refrigerant burnout renders the whole system unable to pump refrigerant. Compressor failure is a major repair decision—replacement cost often leads to full system evaluation for replacement viability.
Get a compressor diagnostic and replacement quoteInverter Module Malfunction
Modern ductless compressors use variable-speed inverter technology to modulate capacity and save energy. When the inverter module fails, the compressor may run constantly at full speed (wasting energy and shortening lifespan) or not run at all. Module replacement is typically affordable and restores proper operation.
Request an inverter system checkOutdoor Unit Fan Motor Failure
The outdoor fan dissipates heat in cooling mode and supports the defrost cycle in heating mode. A stuck or seized fan motor forces the compressor to overheat and triggers a safety shutdown. Fan motor replacement is usually straightforward and one of the more affordable outdoor unit repairs.
Schedule an outdoor unit service callZone Solenoid Valve Stuck
Multi-head systems use solenoid valves to direct refrigerant flow to specific heads. A stuck valve traps refrigerant in one zone while starving others, or prevents any refrigerant flow to that zone entirely. Valve cleaning or replacement restores flow distribution and zone independence.
Book a zone valve diagnosticCondensate Drain Line Clog
Indoor heads extract humidity and produce condensate that drains via small plastic tubing to a pan or external drain. When the line clogs with algae, dust, or debris, water backs up and drips inside the head or stains your ceiling. We clear the line, disinfect it, and identify why the clog formed.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions About Mini-Split Repair
Ductless systems let you cool or heat individual rooms or zones independently without running ducts through your entire home. You only condition the spaces you're using, which saves energy and gives you flexible control. The trade-off is that each head has its own set of potential failures that central systems don't face.
Not safely. Ductless systems operate under high refrigerant pressure and require EPA-certified technicians to handle refrigerant recovery and recharge. Electrical work must follow code. You can clean filters and drain lines, but anything beyond that requires professional tools and licensing.
Simple repairs like filter replacement or drain line clearing take under an hour. Component replacement (a head, a valve, a control board) might take two to four hours. Major repairs involving refrigerant work or compressor replacement can take a full day or more. We provide an estimate after diagnosis.
Yes. We specialize in Daikin and Bosch, but we diagnose and repair all major ductless brands equally well. Our technicians understand the fundamental system design, refrigerant circuits, and electrical controls that are common across manufacturers.
First, verify the outdoor unit has power (check the breaker). Confirm the thermostat has power and batteries (if wireless). Check for error codes on the head's display—these often point to the problem. If those steps don't help, call us for a diagnostic visit. Emergency service is available upon request.
Twice per year—spring before cooling season and fall before heating season. Seasonal tune-ups include filter cleaning, coil inspection, refrigerant pressure verification, and electrical checks. The Breeze Protection Plan includes both appointments with priority scheduling and member repair discounts.
Recharge cost depends on the system's refrigerant type and capacity. We provide an exact quote after diagnosing the cause of the leak or low charge. Some leaks are simple connection fixes; others involve more extensive line repair. We'll explain the cost before beginning work.
Repair cost depends on which component failed. Simple fixes like clearing a clogged drain line or servicing filters sit at the low end, while part replacements such as a valve, an indoor head, or a compressor vary widely. We diagnose first and give you an upfront quote before any work begins, and we talk through repair versus replacement when a repair gets expensive. Regular maintenance prevents many costly failures.
Manufacturer warranties typically cover the compressor and major components, and many require proof of professional installation and regular maintenance. We document all repairs and maintenance so your warranty claims are fully supported.
Signs include reduced cooling or heating capacity in one or more zones, frost or ice on coils, hissing sounds (indicating a leak), and the head running continuously without reaching set temperature. These warrant a professional refrigerant pressure test. We diagnose and recharge as needed.
